Historic Arts & Crafts home, majestically set in the picturesque Mountain Lakes enclave, is a classic reminder of a celebrated era of sophisticated style, graceful beauty and fine design. Influenced by the Arts and Crafts movement of the early 20th century, local developer and entrepreneur Herbert J. Hapgood built homes in the Mountain Lakes region with variations of Colonial and neo-classical details. By the end of 1912, two hundred Hapgood homes were sold and occupied and by 1923, approximately six hundred stucco houses were built to meet the overwhelming demand.
